Carol A. Sheppard was born in 1937 to Isabel Reiche and Edwin Sanders.
She grew up in Buffalo, New York, and, as an only child, travelled all around the U.S. with her parents camping here and there and exploring the countryside.
She went to college at Ohio Wesleyan and studied the liberal arts. During college, she honed her painting skills and became very fluent with oil on canvas. She also joined the Pi Phi sorority, whose memories she cherished.
After graduating, she moved to New York City and through a photographer friend put together a modelling portfolio. She also pursued other artistics venues such as writing and drawing with oils and watercolors.
She married Leonard Moore Sheppard in 1962 in New York City where they lived in the Upper East side. After having three children (Doug in 1966, twins Scott and Tracy in 1970), they moved to Connecticut, Belgium, Ohio, Pittsburgh, North Carolina, and finally after Leonard's passing, Prescott Arizona.
Throughout her life, Carol continued her painting, mastering watercolor and acrylics. She had strong spiritual beliefs, and love for her children (and cats).
Carol A. Sheppard died on August 19th, 2000.
We held a service at the Church of the Red Rocks in Sedona, Arizona, on Saturday, August 26th, 2000. A huge thanks to all of you who sent flowers; they were magnificent.
Thank you. We'll be updating this page with more biographical information later.
Here are some photos which were taken in the early years of marriage. I suspect my Dad was not too good with a camera, but what the hey!
